ABOUT THE SKULL AND BONES:
The "Jolly Roger" is any one of various flags flown to identify a ship's crew as pirates. The flag most usually identified as the Jolly Roger today is the skull and crossbones, a flag consisting of a human skull above two long bones set in an x-mark arrangement on a black field. This design was used by several pirates, including Captains Edward England and John Taylor. Some Jolly Roger flags also include crossed swords below the skull symbolizing martial power, or an hourglass, another common symbol representing death in 17th- and 18th-century Europe. Historically, the flag was flown to frighten pirates' victims into surrendering without a fight, since it conveyed the message that the attackers were outlaws who would not consider themselves bound by the usual rules of engagement—and might, therefore, slaughter those they defeated since captured pirates were usually hanged, they didn't have much to gain by asking quarter if defeated.
During the medieval period, the skull and bones emblem was a common decoration used on tombstones. The icon was also featured on many memento mori, objects, often in the form of iconic illustrations, which served as reminders of humans’ mortality
The symbol of the skull and bones was furthermore also featured on one of the many flags used in battle by pirates, known as the jolie rouge, a use adopted from its original employment by the French Templars. It is also significant in Templar traditions, as it is used in burial traditions of the Knights Templar.
The Templars, formed in 1118 and ‘disbanded’ in 1307, are surrounded by myth and legend, from searching and reputedly finding the Holy Grail, the Ark of the Covenant, sacred Gnostic texts even more dangerous than those found by the Dead Sea or at Nag Hammadi in Egypt, to the disappearance of their naval fleet from La Rochelle just before King Phillipe of France moved to have all Templars arrested and their assets seized.
Some say if it wasn’t the first, then one of the trips the Templare made across the Atlantic to various locations in North America. And others, while agreeing the Templars most probably did make a couple of trans-Atlantic crossings prior to Columbus famed journey of 1492, the La Rochelle fleet more likely found a sage haven in Scotland as the nation and its King, Robert the Bruce, were excommunicated by Rome at the time and therefore somewhat beyond the reach of Papal Bulls and Edicts.
In fact, Baigent and Leigh, and Knight and Lomas agree, contend the very Scottish victory over the English at Bannockburn in 1314, that which ended English designs on Scotland, was due to a mounted charge of Templars throwing themselves into the fray late in the day. The connection here with the Skull and Crossbones is that it was the Templars marine battle flag.
The Scottish destination of the Templars in 1307 is further implied by the tale relating that Robert the Bruce’s remains were placed in such a ‘skull and crossbones’ manner, though the more concrete evidence is that of a large number of Templar gravestones found in Scotland, not to mention the very existence of Rosslyn Chapel.
In today's Masonic Knights Templar, it is also symbolic of Golgotha, the Place of the Skull and the crucifixion place of Jesus Christ. Among the Knights of Columbus, it is coupled with the initials TFMM which stand for the Latin Tempus Fugit Memento Mori meaning Time Flies; Remember [that you will] Die. The skull and bones were an integral part of the rituals of the Order of Knights of Pythias, Moose and the Woodmen of the World. The Moose and the Woodmen did away with the utilization of the skull and bones in their initiation ceremonies long ago, but the Knights of Columbus still use them. The K. of P. used a full skeleton in the Page Degree, as did the Odd Fellows
in the Initiation Degree.
In 1836, the fraternal society of the "Skull and Bones" was established at Yale University. It is an Ivy League Society of the Who's Who among the Elite (rich and famous). It is a Senior year society which exists only at Yale. Members are chosen in their Junior year and spend only one year on campus, the Senior year, with Skull & Bones. In other words, the organization is oriented to the graduate outside world. The Order meets annually - patriarchies only - on Deer Island in the St. Lawrence River.
The Old Line American families and their descendants involved in the Skull & Bones are names such as: Whitney, Perkins, Stimson, Taft, Wadsworth, Gilman, Payne, Davidson, Pillsbury, Sloane, Weyerhaeuser, Harriman, Rockefeller, Lord, Brown, Bundy, Bush and Phelps.
The conspiracy theorists propose that these Elite inner circle members of the Skull & Bones, the Bilderbergs, Council on Foreign Relations and Trilateral Commission are conspiring to politically and economically dominate the entire world under their New World Order.
